Possible to relocate oil fill spout?
I have a '93 Mustang GT. Is it possible to relocate the oil filler spout over to the driver side, towards the front of the car? I want to use an oil breather cap to but i have a strut tower brace that travels directly over the oil filler tube currently located in the passenger side toward the front of the car.
Would relocating the oil filler tube to the driver side be only a matter of choosing the correct valve covers? If so, which valve covers should i get? Looking in the Ford Racing catalog, i see M-6582-A351R which has holes on both valve covers. The catalog indicates that the valve covers will fit 5.0L EFI but it's characterized as an "EFI Truck Valve Cover". Will this still fit in a '93 GT? |

Re: Possible to relocate oil fill spout?
It would actually only be as hard as drilling a hole and buying a cap.

Re: Possible to relocate oil fill spout?
Be aware though that in running a breather on an EFI car will result in lean conditions at idle and part throttle. Anytime you're under manifold vacuum conditions, air will be sucked in through the breather, passed through the PCV and ingested by the cylinders. This is air that has not been metered by the MAF so the engine will run lean. Most times that I've got a customer complaining about idle surge/hunt, its because they've put a breather on the car without understanding why Ford had it designed as a closed system.

Re: Possible to relocate oil fill spout?
Just change it to the other side.
No big deal.
