Sub-frame install
I picked up a pair of sub-frames for my '95 convertible over the weekend. I have a local muffler shop that can do the job this week, but has never installed a set on a car before. How much of a problem are they to install? Can someone who has never done it before do it right the first time? Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of?
Oh yeah, they are the regular length with the t-type support with holes for what I assume are the seat bolts. |

They should be able to do it as long as they know how to weld half way decent. Just make sure they don't burn up the metal. Also some of the subframes don't fit exactly perfect, and they need a little bending, or at least mine did.

Yeah, I have the Kenny Browns and they didn't fit perfectly. They were a little off but welded up just fine.

Be careful! The underbody configuration for conv. are different than closed-top cars. When I had mine installed there was interference with the factory "gussets" welded into the frame rails. These had to be removed and repositioned on the frame.
