Default 351 swap?

what all is involved in a 351 (longblock) swap? Will it bolt up to my AOD? what do I need new besides headers?

Yep, that is a good article. I've been thinking about a 351 swap too. Although I won't do it for awhile yet, when it's time to rebuild the 302, I think I'll just to a 351.

Get the magazine it goes through the change over in more detail. Basically your 302 heads will fit, but because the deck height you'll need a 351 intake manifold. You'll also need some accessory brackets. There are some other things to worry about too. Don't forget you probable won't have enough hood clearance either, so you may want to consider a cowl hood.

That 5.0 article doesn't cover everything. It's the same article that they wrote last year too.

You'll need...
lower manifold to fit the extra block width
bigger injectors & MAF
depending on your block you might need a flat tappet cam
a hood
an oil pan
headers
a distributor
modifications to the H-pipe or whatever exhaust to accomodate the extra inch in width
good cooling system (stay with fan and shroud)
upgraded fuel system if heavily modified
and some more small items
