Thumbs up Favorite Oil?

Just wondering what type and viscosity oil people prefer. I use castrol syntec blend
(can't afford to use syntec 100% synthetic)
10W-30. What do you like?

Well I use Amsoil. And test show that Amsoil
offers over twice the wear protection of other synthetic oils. Amsoil couldn't put on the label if it wasn't true. Series 2000 0W-30.

Mobil 1 10W-30 in the summer and 5W-30 in the winter, and a quart of Slick 50 every other year.

Take care

Valvoline Conventional
5w30 in Winter
10w40 in Summer

Studies have shown Synthetic Blends offer no better, and sometimes worse performance than conventional oils. No teflon goes into my engine, it doens't belong in there. In fact, the manufacturer of Teflon (Dupont) actually recommends AGAINST using it in engines.

With the kind of mileage I put on my cars, the additional $100 a year to run synthetic seems a little steep. Especially since I've driven several cars in our family with up to and beyond 200,000 miles that ran on the regular stuff.

There are a lot of people, and a lot of different opinions. Kinda interesting to see how they all turn out though.

Says you!

What really counts is changing it, and the filter, regularly. Every 3000 miles. Do that, and K-marts worst oil will still get you 250k miles.

Take care
