just got my AFR's in the mail, but WTF !!!
on my invoice it says under Description
"AFR 185 60cc Chamber, Petestal Mount, Complete*NOTE* REQUIRES HEAD BOLT BUSHING ARP P#200-8598) ARE THESE A SPECIAL KINDA HEAD BOLTS OR SOMETHING !

AC delete kit, No smog pump, Manual rack and pinion steering. Ignition- MSD 6AL, MSD Blaster coil, MSD hellicore wires. Drive Train- Tremic 3550, Alum. Drive shaft, 3:73 gears, Stock carrier and axels. 26X11.5 M/T Et streets. Power adder- 175 shot of laughing gas. Best ET 11.5 @120mph on squeeze, 12.4 @109mph on muscle (on gt40 heads) on the 185 heads ... ??? tba |

It's a bushing that goes in the head. The heads are set up to use a 1/2" bolt and the 302 block uses a 7/16" bolt so one needs a bushing to go in the holes.

This Happens to alot of people, why they can't send the proper hardware with the heads after you pay all that money is beyond me. You need the spacer for the head bolts. I have hear of some guys going to a chase pitken or any hardware store to get a bushing but I don't recomend doing that, i would just order the right bushing from ARP.

Better yet
Better yet, get the "stepped" ARP head bolts made just for that application. Also get the ARP thread sealer for the bolts that extend into the water jackets and the ARP thread lube for proper torque wrench technique.
