*HELP* Steering rack install
I'm in the middle of a project installing a new steering rack in my 89 5.0 and man am I having a problem, I got the steering shaft already disconnected and the 2 nuts that hold the rack to the K-member but I can NOT slide this thing off because there is this HUGE sleeve that runs through the bushings and it will not allow me to get the rack far enough forward, it hit the front sump of the oil pan and still has like 2 more inches to go to get both of these darn sleeves through the hole!!!! What the heck can I do?? I start prying away at the bushings and got one out but the sleeve is still locked tightly in place by the rear bushing...even if I manage to get that rear bushing out too how am I gonna get the new rack on with these stupid sleeves in my way???
