Clutch help needed!!
I start my car thismorning and i hear a tapping noise, and it goes away when I push in the clutch. So I take off the cover on the bellhousing, where the cable goes into it and take a look. Everything looked ok, so i start the car and take a look. The throw-out arm it moving all over the place, and was hitting the cover. I can also see the clutch itself moving as well. Is it possible the bolts holding the clutch on the flywheel came lose? Could it be the throwout bearing? What are some possible cuases of this?

I took it all apart, and the bearing retainer, where the throwout bearing slides, was damaged, and was rough. I ordered a steel one from Ford, but what would cause this? What are some causes of the throwout bearing becoming off-center?

Typical for the aluminum bearing retainer. That why they sell the steel retainer. Its a good upgrade for any T5 to put the steel retainer on.

Does anyone know the torque specs on the 4 bolts that hold it to the case? Its not in my service manual, and I can't find it online, thanks.
