Post Headlight Switch Problem : Part 2

Hi,
Thinking it might be a faulty switch, I went to a Mustang junk store and tried another switch unit, and it didn't help.

Also, after looking at the grey adaptor that's attached to the switch unit, I see a light brown colour in the middle of the switch; most likely a burnout...

What (or where) could the problem be? Faulty wiring somewhere? Bad ground? Which wire is the ground wire?

BTW, The problem I have is this is what happens:
1 click = no console or side lights
2 click = headlights work, but no console
Now if I do 2 clicks, and then move the switch a little back, the console/side lights will come on.

Thanks!
Bye!

Look for a hot wire that is trying to ground out.

I had the same problem. The idot that owned the car before me tapped the wrong wire to run the radio. There were wires f&**ed up all in the wire loom. There were also some ignition key wires that were bad too.

Good luck

Last year I had problems with my lights. My headlights and dash lights stopped working all of a sudden. I messed with the switch and if I wiggled it around about halfway in it worked. I just went and got a new switch assembly and it was fixed. I don't know if that will help but just wiggle it around and see what happens. Also, If I wiggled it sometimes I could here the lights click, but the wouldn't turn on.
