Fuel Pressure, HELP!!!

When I start my car, I don't see any fuel pressure on my gauge. I see vacuum on the other gauge but nothing out of the FP gauge. It's an electric gauge and I've double and triple checked my connections and they seem to be fine. Any guesses as to why I'm not registering any FP? It doesn't matter if the vacuum line is disconnected or not...no FP reading either way. Please help.

I recently had to move my engine up about 6 inches do do a header swap, and I forgot to unplug the wire outta the sender on the FPR, and it must be damaged now, since the guage now reads 0. All the connections look fine, but if i wiggle it, if jumps a little, I need to fix it this weekend.

I took off my discharge tube, bypass, inlet tube, MAF, and air filter so I would have room to work on the sender. I also took my spark plug wires off to give me even more room. I fiddled with the sender, got back in the car and just turned the key far enough to turn the accessories on. The gauge was reading pressure...it went from 0 to 100 and pegged at 100 because I didn't have the wires connected to the sender. I plugged the wires into the sender and checked to make sure the gauge was still reading pressure...it was. FP went up to about 30 psi and stopped there.

I put everything back on and started the car again. Now it wasn't reading pressure...it was stuck on 30 psi. Even if I adjust the FPR, it stays at 30 psi. Could there be some kind of electrical cross that is causing my gauge not to read? It read pressure when I had everything off. I put everything back on and no pressure. WTF is going on?

I got everything working properly. I'm not going to embarass myself by saying what the problem was, but it was very simple

Nope! The gauge was grounded properly. What happened was I had my metal work light hanging off my hood latch. Sometimes when I leave the light on the hood like that, it will kill the battery on start up, like the battery's dead. With that said, when I removed the light, I didn't disconnect the battery to reset everything...I just went back and tried starting the car again. It started but the gauge wasn't working. I disconnected the cables from the battery and re-conncected them again. Started the car and voila! Everything was working properly.

Thank god it was something that simple. It's so cramped on my passenger side and I hate taking all that stuff off time after time. The funny thing is: I'll bet this isn't the last time I forget to move my work light before I start the car

How come you hook up your work light to your car's battery? Why not just use a plug in light?

It wasn't hooked up to my car's battery. It plugs into a wall outlet. It was hanging off the hood latch.
