Post those with pulleys installed - help!

I am in the middle of changing out the pulleys on my car and i'm having some trouble with the crankshaft pulley. I cant seem to get the main crankshaft bolt out without cranking the engine. I can turn it but the crankshaft turns and it just wont come loose. THe instructions say to put it in reverse or 1st gear. I have an AOD but i went ahead and put it in first anyway. no help. Does anybody know what to do? all help is appreciated.

stop trying to turn that bolt, thats what holds the harmonic balancer on
you need to loosen the 4 bolts that are on the inside perimeter, your kit should have come with 4 new bolts for it and they should loosen before it turns the crank
if it still does, put it in park with the rear wheels on the ground, put your emergency brake on too just to be sure

also, go ahead and tighten the balancer bolt back up too, if you loosened it much it could be bad, like your balancer falling off
