I saw a post awhile back where someone confirmed that Design Concepts and Cincinatti Composites was the same company. If I remember right someone said Motion Performance was part of that clan as well. Anyone remember that post?

If Cervinis made a functional Cobra R SVO hood. I would be a very happy man.

No, 2FastLX, that post only mentioned Cobra Auto Design and Design Concepts as being in that clan.

I don't live far from Cincinatti Composites so what I might do is drive over there and have a look at their stuff. I've heard people say if you are brave enough to drive into that part of town and go to their business you can get a nice hood.

My friend had to pay an extra $500 to fix the crap that CC sent them before he could paint it. he said only one side is gel coated. I think about 4 companies make that hood. I am looking for that same one for my 1994 stang. Cobra R SVO. I would not buy from them. Try one of the other companies. Check MM&FF for the other companiesd.

I have looked and looked for that hood and have yet to see anyone else making it, unless they came out with it recently. My only other alternative would be to buy a Cervinis hood and chop it up to put the scoop into it and I definately don't want to do that. I have even emailed Cervinis about making me a custom hood and they have yet to reply. If you find that exact hood made by someone else for Fox body Mustangs please let me know where. Thanks.

2FastLX, Age Classic Design has a Cobra R hood with a SVO scoop. almost the same as the cowl hood with the SVO scoop you were looking at. IMO the R hood looks better.

The Fox body Stangs are more of a box shape and the R hood is more rounded. To me it just doesn't go with the body lines of the car at all. I'll go look at that hood, but I am pretty sure I have seen it and didn't care for it for that reason. Other than that it is a cool looking hood. If nothing else I'll go with the norm and stick a cowl hood on there for now. I have a friend who is killer at fiberglass work so I may just have him mold a scoop into a cowl hood and be done with this whole mess.

I agree w/ you 2FastLX, the one you had in mind looks better than the R one if you're gonna put it on your year car.

I am pretty new to this message board, but I guess I'll throw in my opinion. I bought a hood from Cincy Composites about 2 years ago. I went down to their warehouse and picked out a nice one, personally. The fit was flawless, but it did take a little work on my part to get it ready so I could paint it--mainly finishing the edges. There were small pinholes where the two layers were bonded together. Mine cost $299 and it took me around 3 hours to fix the roughness. Is it worth it? I think so. They have a much wider variety than Cervini's, so you don't end up looking like every other clown on the road.

My first post ever and I must stick up for CC. I drove my Coupe 2 hours to Fun ford weekend @ bristol with a cardboard hood and purchased a 2.5 inch cowl from cc. I improperly installed the hood and it came up on the cruise for tru street. My cowl was bent terribly and now has much bondo but the hood has two small places and the pins were torn from the driver side.

I made it home withthe aide of nascar tape and now the hood is painted, cowl is fixed and i have the toughest glass hood ever made. I also must add thatI havehad no problem with the latch since I got my head on straight.

To survive what it did is amazing and my next hood will come from cc.

This is what I've been wanting to hear. Maybe they have improved their quality? Who knows. If I do buy one from them I will drive over to Cincinatti and hand pick my hood. It's only a 4 hour drive from here.

I don't know what is more scary---ordering a hood without seeing it first, or driving to the neighborhood that CC is located! I'm only kidding, it isn't THAT bad. I plan to go buy another hood for my '94 in a month or so.

I have probably been to that neighborhood before. We were going to Kings Island and decided to drive around a bit and ended up in what appeared to be the ghetto. There were people standing in doorways staring at you drove by. Pretty scary part of town, but I'll be OK. I'll have my wife with me =)

I bought the Cobra R SVO from Age Classic and couldn't be happier with the look. It makes the car look more massive and meaner. Someone around here has the hood your looking for and his hood was straight w/no waves but I don't know what kind of work was put into that. IMO mine looks better though The body lines with the Cobra R hood look fine and not out of place.

Update - I am getting this hood. I don't care if it's a pile of crap or not. I saw one on a Stang in Frankfort Kentucky. It was AWESOME!!! It was the best hood I've seen on a Stang yet, and these guys are the only ones making them.

fiveohpatrol got a Cincinnati hood and said his looked nice so maybe their quality is getting better.

Ballzy call 2Fast, based on what I read on stangnet you may also get to buy a new windshield. I would say pick it out yourself and make sure its on tight before heading out. I just picked up a Cervini's stalker ram air for my sn95, and it was well worth the extra money. Take it out of the box, assemble it, rough sand and shoot. Looks kick a** too.

Good luck, and lets see the picks.
