Default Air Pump Idler

Just wondering if there were any drawbacks to getting an air pump idler...

No draw backs other then not being able to pass an emissions test. And if you have any cats that need the air pump you'll burn them out by removing it.

Why get an idler when you can get a short belt. Cheaper, does the same thing. Go to www.fordmuscle.com they've got a tech article on how to route the shorter belt without the air pump.
