Question wierd noise!

My stang has been making this shrieky like squeeling noise. Almost like a whistling vacuum leak. it even reacts like one. When i put on the gas it decreases in pitch and loudnees. I've checked my hoses and everything looks fine. It's starting to worry me. Can this be a sign of wearing bearings. If so, of what kind.

Thad, Scott's (Rebel79) cobra sounds like yours in a way... He just posted a video clip in the Blue Oval Lounge section! Look for it, and listen, maybe he can help you...

Hey JL1314, i don't think Scott's whistle is the same as Thad's. You see, Scott's whistle is from his Super charger. Light Em Up!!!

I notice a whistle in mine also, it seems to get louder with the RPM's. Is it possibly the tranny???

Question

My noise tends to decrease with the rpms higher.I don't get it. I'm constantly looking for where it's coming from. It seems to be loudest right at the distributor area. I wonder if the bearings are going bad on it.
Or maybe in the water pump? Everything seems to be working fine so i guees i just have to live with it

I worked on a car with the same problem - it turned out to be a leaking injector seal. When you turn it of, does the noise continue for a second or so?

Hey Thad... that would explain the fuel smell you say you smell!

Can you get just the injector seals and replace them? There's a good chance that's it like jl1314 said i've also had a gas smell emmiting from the hood also. I'm not sure if the sound continues after the engine is stopped, or at least i haven't noticed it.
Thanks for all the feedback everyone, by the way.

Hey man it could be the fan clutch. I had that problem too. Does it kinda sound like a supercharger? If so than thats what I think.
