Crane 2031 cam Questions ???
I've got a '94 GT with mild bolt-on mods (Full exhaust,pulleys,1.7 rr's,cold air,73 MM mass air, 3.55's and more to come). This coming spring I plan on installing a systemax lower intake (the one that works with the stock upper) and I'm undecided about the cam. I'm still running the stock heads and I'm uncertain if I'll benefit from the Crane 2031 cam. If and when I do upgrade the heads it might be something like the Windsor Jrs. Nothing too radical like Canfields or something. I'm just aiming for a little more power and don't have any plans for a blower or NOS or the like. Any insight would be appreciated.

I'm running the Crane 2031 cam with GT-40P heads, Trick Flow Street Heat intakes, and 1.7 roller rockers. I really, really love it. It's got great power throughout the rpm band..although not as much as more radical cams...OBVIOUSLY. In addition, I have been told by many people that it is also an excellent blower cam. I don't know if that's in your plans, but it's just some more info. It's also got a naZZZty little idle to it too...definitely lets you know it's runnin'. hope this helps some...josh

The 2031 makes a good blower cam due to the slpit valve lift and duration it will good NA though. Most NA cams feature a lot of overlap, the 2031 intake valve closes at -1 and the exhaust valve opens at 6 I think. The only problem some people have is idle issues, my dads 93 Cobra had a real hard time finding a idle now it's not a issue because he runs a SpeedBrain, but I run a much more radical cam and my stock 91 computer takes it pretty well?
