Wink Gaskets in general....

You know I hear everyone recommend a certain head gasket or intake gasket, and or header gaskets, and I was wondering, No matter what the brand, type of gasket, I have never had a problem with leaks or a blown gasket. So I am wondering is thiis just luck, or are there really bad gasket brands, etc.
I mean I usually just go to NAPA or Checkers, and take what they give me and no problems, knock on wood. Just wondering...

the gaskets aren't the problem....there must be something wrong with the mechanic.

There are BAD gaskets out there, any thing from ONE-STOP auto pretty much sucks, but people buy it because it cost 3 cents I always stick with FEL-PRO, and if you have cheap *** warped pile of crap MAC headers like me - I use Earl's Header Seals, they are Aluminum with some type of polymer around each port... Earls are made by HOLLEY..

must be...guess there is no difference between a gasket that cost $1 vs a $37 gasket. good call.
