Default D8OE heads???

These are off of a 351, I can get em free. Are they worth doing anything with or better off buying gt-40's??? These are a small CC head though

Cool

Free is a plus. If you can have a set of big valves 1.94/1.60 put in for free also, a little home port job, you can have a killer set of heads. The valves run $100 for the whole set. Even if you have to pay for the installation you may get a good deal. I think those heads have press in studs, if so they need to be pinned or replaced with screw in studs. Shave them .030, smooth all the sharp edges in the chambers, bowl hog them when you get the valves put in. A buddie in a machine shop is good to have.

My buddy has a bid in on a head machine so if he gets it he will be able to do a complete set of heads and already has a valve grinding machine to do that stuff.. He has a set of 289 heads, small chamber, adjustable valve train... or I can get these D8OE heads from another buddy.. dont know what to do.

D8OE ...those are 78 heads ...right in the middle of smog control city ... i don't know for sure without some research but i'll bet they are large open chamber smog heads ... probably not worth a spit.
