Kill Switch Question......
Ok I'm thinking of putting in a kill switch today in my car. I was playing around the other day and I noticed when I disconnected this pretty easy to remove cable from my ignition my car wouldn't start. So I thought, if I reran this cable to a switch so that if the switch is off my car won't start would that work. Check out the picture I enclosed and hopefully you can determine if it's a good cable to splice and rerout to a switch and back in. When I turned the key with this cable off it made no sound whatso ever. So I am imagining it will work with no troubles. I took 3 pictures of my engine I'll post all 3. If you want to show me where a good wire is just point it out and repost the picture. =) Here is the first one that I show where the cable is.

that would probably work
do you have any idea what that wire is and how much power runs thru it? One thing you should do is measure the amps that run thru that wire and make sure your switch can handle that much power

I have no idea what that switch is for. I will try to follow it but I don't think it really goes into anything that will let me know what it does. I will measure the amps and make sure the switch can handle it. Someone must know on this site what the wire is for... or a wire I can use for a kill switch. I wish I had a electric fuel pump cause I would use that. Err....
Thanks again, §am.

Yeah it might work, but why do you want to put a kill switch on your car? If your going to do that I'd suggest that you trace the wire back to it's source and splice it there instead of that connector that you pointed out. It might make it easier to do. Also, I'd get some electrical diagrams to help out with it.
Hope I've been helpful. Daniel. |
