Default Help Please!

Ok Ok, My 90 lx has a tranny problem..... it has a broken AOD. The thing is I found a donor car for a T-5 swap. Its a "1985" 5.0.
I have a list of all the parts I need for the swap but my question is this: can I use ALL the parts from this 1985 5.0? My list of parts says I need a 1987+ clutch fork and pedal assembly. however, another list states that it doesn't matter. So, Will all the parts from the 1985 fit in my 1990 ????? I don't wanna spend any money on this if I have to buy parts from another donor.
Thank you very much.

If you install a 5 speed ECM, be sure to cut the wire going to pin 30. Otherwise, you will fry the ECM.

Take care,

are you getting a good deal on the 85? You might be better off spending the $1,100 on a brand new one and it will have all the correct plugs on it (for reverse lights etc). My 85 T5 went many years ago. I dont think they are as strong as the Heavy duty t5 available today. also remember the flywheel and clutch are smaller on the 85

Yes, the ECM is the "computer".

Take care,
