rod ratio question
hey im gonna be buying an engine soon. Prolly a dart motor built by bennett racing. Anyways i saw that scat has a new 4.5 in stroke crank out for the 351w motors. that would be a huge jump in ci's but what about the rod ratio. I think it will be somewhere down about 1.3 or so. anywways just currious on your thoughts. Also any suggestions on what motor to get. It will be the 351 9.5 in deck by dart. I was thinking 408 or 427 or bigger with the 4.5 in stroke crank. anyways thanks again

I'm building a 372 long rod motor ... the oil ring is still above the piston pin hole and there are no clearence problems ... will that combo work ??? I'll let you know if i ever get it together? but it seemed like a good compromise to me and if there is one thing i am sure of, its that hot rodding is all about compromise

Stroker.
That 4 1/2 stroke SCAT crank is for a 429/460 big block. I seriously doubt that a 4 1/2 stroke is possible in a Windsor block, no matter who makes it. And, DART is the best.
