Default New engine candidates

I have been thinking about throwing a big block in my stang. I was searching around, and stumbles across this. What do y'all think about this engine and the price? Thanks all.

I would pass on that one. 390ci can be done with a stroked 351 for less money, less weight, less headachs, and better performance. I wouldn't mess with a BB unless it was 500ci or above, but thats jmo.

Where can I find a stroked 351 for less than $1300? That sounds like a great idea, but I havent found one yet. Thanks for the reply.

I didn't see the price but I still would pass. You will still need a intake, carb, oil pan, headers, h-pipe, distributer, and all the little things needed to do a swap. You may even need to get some stiffer springs up front to handle the weight of a iron headed big block. Also don't forget about motor mounts and all the brackets so you can hook up your alternator, power steering, and AC (optional). You will also need to get pulleys unless you run a custom serpintene system then you will need a reverse rotation waterpump to.

Like I said it will be a headache and it just is not worth it for a little 390ci.
