Default O2 Sensors

When I changed my starter it fell and broke my O2 sensor. So I'll be replacing both of them. My question is I have seen talk of a wide band O2 what is the difference between wide band and stock. I dont drive my car much a few long trips on the week end and mybe a total of 20 miles a week, so fuel comsuption is not an issue. As for smog testing I got that beat dont have to do it until next year and I know a guy. Should I use a wide band O2 or Stock, Whats the diff What kind of gains or losses. Where do I find a wide band?
Thanks

wide band O2 sensors can actually measure the air/fuel ratio. Instead of switching back and forth like all previous sensor designs, the new wide-band O2 sensor produces a signal that is directly proportional to the air/fuel ratio.

This is really good for computer tuning cars.

You would need a computer that would work with a wide band O2 sensor. Your computer will work with a stock O2 sensor so that's what you should get.

The difference is that a stock, or narrow band, oxygen sensor can only read A/F ratio values in a very narrow band around the stoichiometric A/F ratio. This information is used during closed loop mode to maximize fuel economy and emissions. At WOT, you are running in open loop mode which means that the computer is calculating how much fuel to provide to achieve a rich A/F ratio that is outside of the measurable range of the O2 sensor.

A wide band O2 sensor would be able to measure A/F ratios for the entire range that your engine could safely use. They're usually used for tuning on a dyno.
