Ignition Prob..please Help
Just yesterday, i went to start my stang, and when i turned the key to the on position, no lights chimes or anything. Then i went to start it, it started fine, but as soon as i let the key go, it shut off. Unless the key is all the way on, i get nothing. It wont even stay running. Has anybody had this prob before? please help. I heard it may be the ignition switch.

Re: Ignition Prob..please Help
I would start with the ignition switch. It is like $9 at Autozone. I am not referring to the ignition cylinder (where you put the key). This is an electrical switch that is down the steering column. You have to take the plastic around the steering column off to access it. Be sure to take it out with the key in the "on" position. And remember to disconnect your battery before you begin.

Re: Ignition Prob..please Help
There was also a big recall on Mustang (and lots of other Fords) ignition switches back in the 90's.
Not sure of your model year but a local dealer can run your VIN to see if your car was affected or see if it was done.

Re: Ignition Prob..please Help
Check the recalls, and ignition switch first. But I've had ignition modules do that very same thing to me. Check that next.
