Default 1.6 rockers ??

ok i have stock heads but they r shaved and i want to know if 1.6 rockers will help me out or wont make a difference ( i dont wanna change heads not yet anyway) and will they fit under my stock valve covers

1.6 "roller" rockers will help out a little cause of reduced friction in the valve train.

1.7 "roller" rockers reduce friction and give you more lift which can be a significant gain.

and yes, they will fit under the stock valve covers.

You'll have to remove the oil baffle that is inside the valve cover right under the oil fill tube to clear the roller rockers. Depending on the year of the car, you may have to grind down the ribs inside the valve cover. Some of the later valve covers (92 and later I think) don't have the internal ribs.

1.7's are decent with a stock cam.
If clearances do become an issue, you can usually find thicker valve cover gaskets. You should be OK though. I have pedestal 1.6 Crane rollers under 1989 valve covers with no modifications.

Default 1.6 or 1.7?

my car is an 88 gt with an f-cam
does anyone know the difference in price betwen the 1.6 and the 1.7 and what would work better with the cam i have

Use 1.6's with the F-cam. That cam already has enough lift, and is already more cam than a stock head needs.

The prices of the two rockers are about the same. Around $230.

Hey thanks exgmguy for the help i ma gunna go with the 1.6's like u said i should cuz yes that is a big cam for stock heads but i am running 12.9 and i am not ready to change the heads just yet.
