Default AOD shifting 1-d-1 ..

ive learned from this and im going to avoid doing this because it messses up my tranny. i got it rebuilt with a level 10 kit. and trans go shift kit and a 2500 stall
im also wondering if that trans go shift kit will go through all gears 1.2.3,4 because its usually 1,3,4 its says it wont goto OD on full throttle .. just wondering

If after moving the gear shift from 1 to D, wait several seconds(like 5 or 6) and then, and only then, move the gear shift back into 1. If you don't wait it will burn up you OD band, which is engaged breifly in the 1-2 shift.(you have to give the OD band time to relase)

Yes the Trans-Go kit will make the 3-4 shift a WOT

WOT is Wide Open Throttle (full throttle)

If you like to be in control of the gear changes without hurting the tranny, then go for a Lentech valvebody. It will let you shift 1-2-3. 1 is 1st gear, d is 2nd gear, OD position is 3rd gear and OD is engaged with a switch while still in the OD position.

That's the only gripe I have with the Transgo kit. I've had the kit for about 2 years now, and I don't know if it's something I did wrong on install or if it's a problem with my VB, but my tranny will shift from 3-4 under WOT even with the shift lever in D.

It only does this at WOT. At part throttle, it will hold 3rd. This kinda sucks at the track as you have to let up when the tranny hits 3rd, or it will shift into OD about 100-200 feet before the end of the 1320. As you could guess...not the best thing when you're shooting for low times.

Anyway...was wondering if anybody else had this problem.

I just bought a 91 Geo Prizm as a daily driver. It should save me about $50 a month in gas (can you say 30 mpg?!), and I worked it so my insurance is about $230 less with both cars on there than it was with just the Mustang. This should give me some freedom to go a little more crazy with the stang...I'm thinking C-4 pretty soon...hehehe.

My Lentech valve body cost $350 plus shipping, which wasn't cheap. Lentech is in Canada.

The stall and shift kit I had originally(B&M) did help me but I don't know how much. I went from running 15.0-15.2 with 3.73s, tuneup, K&N, msd and full exhaust to 13.8-14.1 with the addition of the stall, shift kit, A-trim, and mega bite jrs. I was spinning ALOT and I've never gotten better than a 2.0 60', I've always run my cars on street tires. I've learned that a good set of tires would be worth the price.
