cam + speed density possible?

not sure on this topic but is it possible to run a cam with a speed density motor?? If so what types would run best. The motor is mostly stock except pullies, ram air, and exhaust.

yep, its a stupid myth that you can not run cams with speed density. Do they react the same as with mass air? Probably not since the lift is raised and it just takes longer to react. I actully have a buddy that runs an F-cam with ported heads with sd. It is not as smooth as mass air but it DOES run.

I have overported everything and E303 w/1.7's

WOT is fine

your sacrificing part throttle drivability and idle

not ideal, livable for weekend ride

if I did over, I beleive a blower/nitrous cam w/wide LSA and as little overlap as possible will work best.

at this point a cam is a foolish move hpwise

heads
intake

in that order

i have opened up the exhaust side with shorty headers,off road h, and 2 chamber flows, i also have a functioning ram air hood with kit, k&n filter,i have been looking for a mass air conversion so i can run a cam but thought maybe i wouldnt be needed if i want to keep the valve train stock and just get a more mellow cam that would work with the stock valve train. Money is the issue.

A cam won't give you much with stock unported heads and intake. Not worth the work IMHO.

Speed density cars CAN runs cams, it's just all a matter of finding the right grind. A speed/density car just won't make adjustments for extra air and fuel. I agree with slow87gt...get the parts on his list first. They'll do you a lot more good than a cam would.
