5.0 Tune-up Questions

I have two questions about my friends 94 5.0 that I hope somebody can answer. First, what's the easiest way to change the PCV valve, from up top or under the car. I know it's behind the intake but I can't seem to find it. Second, I'm going to bump the timing up but I'm not sure where the spout connector is located. The only thing I saw that looked like it was a connector on the passenger side next to the airbox, would that be it? Also, will changing the timing on a fuel injected motor change the idle speed?? Well that's about it I hope somebody can Help!!

you can change the PCV valve from the top, try looking from the drivers side and use a flashlight. The spout connecter is located by the distributor and looks like it is just hanging there for no reason. no it will not affect the idle

Actually, the SPOUT connector is between the aircleaner housing and the inner fender on the 94-95. You got to get right on top of the back of the intake to really see the PCV but it is a snap to replace.

In answer to your timing question:
Changing the timing (with the Spout connector disconnected) will not increase the idle speed. This is an advantage of the EFI engine management system.
Don't forget to replace the Spout connector after you advance the timing.
