You would definetley gain about 10 horse, but driveability would suffer. Stay with the shorties.

You would gain a little bit of torque, but its not worth the money or trouble, considering you will have to get a new h pipe as well.

Default long tubes

I dont know how much you would gain going to long tubes but I dont think I would. I have them on my 89 gt and the are a pain. I just changed over from a t-5 to a c-4 last weekend and dealing with the headers was the worst part of it

you cant go wrong with them, you will get a rowdy sound, and a power gain, i dont see how drivability will decrease? just my .02

Driveability will improve with long tubes. Losing driveability when compared to shorties is nonsense.

The long tubes will not only give you more power, but they will also increase your low end and mid range torque. They are vastly superior to shorties when it comes to performance. Obviously the installation is significantly harder, and they do get in the way more when working underneath.

Are they worth the kind of money you are talking about over the shorties that you already have? That's questionable.

I don't know why everyone thinks Long Tubes are such a pain to install....think about it...it is as easy as Equal lengths (atleast mine were) and it is easier to change plugs, gaskets, pull the h-pipe, change O2 sensors....PLUS the power and torque gains. Changing gaskets on my equals was a pain in the rear....not is it a 20 minutes piece of cake. Installation does take a little more time, but it isn't that bad. Driveability won't change a bit either, also, they are also a little quieter until you get into the gas.

I say go for it, you will lose nothing, and gain more...especially with future mods.

Also, the guy that just swapped out trannys...some companies make a different L/T just for Auto's.....that may have been why you had problems.

Dang...I am in a bad mood this morning. Sorry guys if I came across rude, not my intention.
