![]() I was looking through MM&FF mag for a new suspension setup. Price is very important. I found Ford racing springs all the way around for $135. This would lower the car 7/8 inch in front, and 1/2 inch in the back. I also saw KYB shocks and struts for $180 for all four. I'm guessing this is just standard ride height settup. Would these elements work together? You can visually notice my car in the rear is well lower on the left side. Do i need to worry about anything adjustable? Is this stuff I'm looking at good? Thanx a hundred million!

![]() I would stay away from adjustable stuff. Nobody knows how to adjust that stuff anyway. I think that combo would be just fine. In fact I ran it on my '90 GT for about 2 years. Worked great for the money. I did end up putting some Track-kit brackets on the rear to lower it a little more than the springs did. I liked it a lot better after that...

![]() I've been running that for a couple of years... definitely better than stock, nice ride, but handling could be better.
I got the 5300B springs, with the 425-530# fronts... I'd suggest the 5300C springs, with the 600# fronts. If it's performance you want, it's probably worth it to step up to the Tokico Hi-performance (non-adjustable) shocks & struts. I needed more adjustment than what the stock cc plates allowed. I could only get -1.2deg camber, and it wore the inside of the tires a bit. Other considerations are stiffer lower control arm bushings up front, new lca's for the rear, subframe connectors, and a lower chassis brace. I've went the cheap route... now I wanna go a better route. I removed the pinion snubber, so it wouldn't hit as much, but now it bottoms out on the axle stops when someone is in the back. I'd like to get stiffer springs, and remove the UCA's (get a panhard & Torque arm or something). |
