E/T gains with injectors and alum driveshaft?
I have 19 LB. injectors and was wondering if I would gain any E/T by going to 24 LBS? I have all my mods in my SIG. I think, and everyone I know says the 19 LBS. are too small, but I havent had any problems with them yet. Also would I gain any E/T by going to an aluminum driveshaft? I really dont want to spend any money on something that I wouldnt gain anything by putting on.

Really? I have about the same mods, and I'm happy with my 19lbs. I think waaaaaaaaay too many people are gas happy...and get bigger injectors before they really need em.
Not trying to give any advice because I don't really know that much about fuel delivery...but I didn't think the 19 lbers were too small...then again, who needs more with my lame hogged out E7s |

I guess I should keep the 19's for now untill I do more. I was also wondering about an aluminum driveshaft also. Any advantages?

What are the specs on your Lunati cam? With those parts, assuming a well matched cam, you're probably approaching the stock injection cycle limits of the 19lb injectors. That doesn't mean the injectors can't support your power, just that the computer will have to begin to alter the injection cycle with much more under the hood.
That being said, the aluminum driveshaft will probably not give you anything at the track, but it will most likely smooth out a lot of drivetrain vibration. It's probably worth a couple RWHP. I doubt you'll pick up anything with new injectors. If you really want to find out if your injectors are not supporting the engine you'll need to look at your cars air/fuel ratio. |

The cam specs are------- 500, 510 lift and 218, 226 @ 50. What was really bad is, I used to have the bottle on this thing with the 19#. I know they were definately to small for that. But I have sence taken the bottle off to save my 3RD T-5 and 175,000 mile short block.

My aluminum driveshaft was the most SASTIFYING mod I've done lately...~$150 for the shaft and both U joints and all the stupid vibrations at 3000+rpms GONE. You'd better get one quick You'll love it.

I agree. Un less you are going lean up top with the stock injectors you will gain nothing at the track. The larger injectors will just not have to work as hard.
And the driveshaft won't gain any power at all. It will just let you rev faster. But don't plan on seeing any gain at the track. |
