How bad will my LS1 lose to this LX with cam/head/intake?
Whats your best guess his HP/torque ratings and 1/4th, 0-60 times might be?
Trick flow twisted wedge, x303 cam and a trick flow track heat intake... 3.55 gears(stock i think) and its a 5speed... Of course full exhaust, and im not sure about all the simple bolt ons, but i presume he may have them...

Depending on the weight of his car, and state of tune he could go anywhere from low 12's to mid 13's.
Most fairly stock looking cars with that kind of combo trap around 106-109. That is right about where you should be at. A bolt on LS1 and a heads cam intake 5.0 is usually a pretty good race. |

Did you buy your LS1 new? I picked up my 2002 a couple weeks ago. I was just wondering if your car seemed to pick up power as it broke in? Mine was SLOW when I picked it up. I started thinking that all the people that rant about how fast they are were crazy. It has picked up a lot more low end now that I've got over a 1000 miles on it.
It still doesn't seem very fast though. I've been shifting it a little over 5000...Where do you shift yours? Chad

Lots of variables to consider, but I would say it should be pretty close. It will probably come down to who gets the better launch. Will you or the other guy be on drag radials or street tires?
BTW - the 3.55's are not stock - most LX Mustang's came with 2.73's (ugh!) Good luck and let us know how it all turns out. E

Short shifting by 1000 rpms could explain why the car isn't as fast as I thought it would be...heh...
I'll give that a shot next time I drive it and see what kind of difference it makes. Thanks Chad

What kind of tires is he running?
To give you an idea.... My car goes 13.7 on street radials, but on 10" Slicks it goes 12.5. Skyler
