![]() After installing a smaller pullie for my 6 psi to boost to9 psi I am having problems with my serpentine belt getting shedded by one of the tensioner bolts. I have the smallest belt I can fit on the blower but I still need to drop the tensioner down far. Is there a way to get a smaller belt on the SC pullie so the tensioner could be set in the higher bolt holes? Or is there a bigger pullie for the tensioner? Right now I am running around with the blower belt off so I don't get stuck again. Man it sucks to be slow.
thanks for the help Chip

![]() Why can't you drop the tensioner further down? I am trying to picture it but I have a 95 so our set-up may be a bit different. I too have the smallest belt that will fit with my 6lb pulley and 7" crank pulley. I had to really hammer the tensioner down and get the belt away from one of the bolts, if that makes sense.

![]() There are two sets of holes that you can mount the tensioner on. If I mount it onthe lower ones and hammer it down like you did I get a very tight belt no slip at all but one of the bolts is right where the sepentine belt passes. It dose not touch it but I am guessing at high RPMs it dose because it has shedded the belt 3 times now. If it makes things easier I can try to get some pics.

![]() I have flipped it many times. Is there a way I can fit a tighter belt on it? Any tricks for that?

![]() maybe its not shredding from the bolt, it may be shredding from being so tight.
if you can post some pictures it would be easier to help you out, its kinda hard to visualize (well for me it is anyway) you can always remove the tensioner and drill a new hole so it can be mounted at a different angle

![]() All I did was swap the small pullie on the outside of the blower for a smaller one and change the external belt to make up for the smaller pullie. I found the pullie on e-bay. It was a nice differance. Dont forget to install a bypass valve.
Any more questions let me know chip

![]() Why yes, yes I do.
But from what I hear they are hard to change. So why go to all the trouble till you have to. If it breaks you can still drive, its gunna be slower but it will run.

![]() I think I solved my problem. I got a belt one size smaller wrapped it around the S/C pullie then half way around the crank pullie (as much as I could) then bumped the starter. It is a tight fit but its on and not rubbing.
