Was wondering about power
I would like to buy a ford b303 cam for my car. I was wondering about what the power diffrence between the stock cam and this cam would be. This would be on a basicly stock motor.
Thanks for any help. |

Without heads and an intake swap, a cam upgrade is virtually worthless.

Cam
Very true Jeb, granted it sounds cool as hell, but if I could go back, I would have gotten heads and an Intake first. Basically no noticable power. Later,
Will

Leave it alone
RageForces:
For what it's worth, I can confirm the previous posts. The stock cam is quite aggressive and matched perfectly with the stock engine configuration; a cam change - alone - will do nothing for power and in some cases, you get could actually get slower. Not recommended without new heads, intake, exhaust - minimum. |

My mustang has equal lenght shorty headers , a off road h pipe 373 gear set and I have had the upper intake extrude honed and the lower i have ported my self. The heads have all so been not ported but made really smooth. Do you guys still think i will not see any improvment with a cam change. Thanks again.

Any gains you get will be at the topend of your power range and you will lose some bottom end with a cam swap. wait till you are ready to do heads that a great time to do a cam swap to compliment the added airflow.
