![]() I'm looking at some exhaust stuff, and wanted to run it by you guys before I bought anything. This is going on a car that is currently stock, but will soon have AFR 165's, custom cam, etc. Just wanting to know your thoughts on this, and if there is anything hard about it that I should know beforehand.
Mac long tubes, 1-5/8" Mac high flow H-pipe for use with longtubes Mac pro dumps The real question that I have is that in my NexGen parts catalog it says 'for race applications only', is that right? I didn't think that there was anything illegal about dumps, and I need to pass safety/emmissions. |

![]() I don't know about VA but in MA the law says the exhaust must exit from the rear or side of the car. Emissions wise the car will be just as clean but safety wise the car might not pass because the exhaust doesn't exit out from under the car.

![]() Out here in CA dumps aren't illegal as long as you have catalytic converters. Does you're H-pipe have cats? If not, you're not going to pass emissions. Cats shouldn't cost you that much power unless you have a really modified engine ie: blower, 7000rpms. Also no cats is unhealthy to anything that breathes. I hear long tubes are a real pain in the rear to install on a 5.0, but they are superior to shorties. If mac doesn't have a cat h-pipe for long tubes, BBK does(for their long tubes). If the long tubes have cats, I'd install them in a heartbeat.

![]() Sorry, that mac H-pipe comes with high flow cats, and thats what I'm gonna get with the long tubes. The only real question is about the dumps, cause in the future I'm gonna be getting a panhard rod, and I know that those interfere.....any ideas?
