![]() i put new heads on my 302 and now when idling the carb pops occasionally, but when i give it gas it really pops a lot. it stops popping when i get it to about 3 1/2 grand. I tried the timing and a diff. carb so far, I thought the valves were all set right, but I dunno. any suggestions would be appreciated

![]() Could be a bad power valve, too. I'd readjust the valves first. If you have an intake valve that's hanging open, it will cause an intake backfire. Check your compression, and if you have a low cylinder, check those valves first.
