![]() Can anyone tell me where I should buy calipers from?? I've got a 91 lx that was converted to 5 lug from a 95 cobra...it was converted before I bought it. Anyhow, the rear drivers side is not working so I was calling around for prices to replace it. Autozone was like $59, Napa was like $77 with core exchange, and Ford was $180. Anyone have any experience with calipers and where I should buy them? Thanks.

![]() Yeah, I am looking for the cobra calipers. I really dont want to pay 180 for one new caliper from Ford. I'm just wondering about the quality of the Autozone and Napa calipers.

![]() Being the purist that I am, I would buy two of the Ford pieces. If you go with the cheaper set, I would definitely buy a pair. Brakes are too important to run them mismatched.
You could probably get away with replacing one, especially since it's the rear brakes, but that's up to you.

![]() Thanks for the help so far. I guess my main question is wether you are paying for the "Ford" name when you are buying a Caliper from them. The other two places I checked were both under a 100 bucks....Ford being $180. One thing though, I think Napa's had a lifetime warranty on them,,,if I remember correctly. I may just go with them and buy new calipers for each side like jimberg mentioned.

![]() I don't think you will have any problems running a decent quality rebuilt caliper. NAPA ones should do the trick.
As suggested replace both as a pair, and put on new pads, and resurface the rotors to make sure everything will work right. Don't forget, if you need to compress the piston in the caliper for those, you need to get a tool to "press and twist" the piston back in.
