EFI To Carb--HELP
I just bought an 87 stang that I am rebuilding and then gonna carb it. What exactly am I gonna need to do? Or should I just buy the Mass Air coversion kit? Any suggestions? I think it would be cheaper to carb it, right? It's not a daily driver, just something to spank the rice rockets in on the weekends.

carb is great if you know what youre doing with it. it is cheaper and easier to make power and if it not a daily driver then it would be good to do. basically you could get a good setup and go fast for the price of just the mass air kit. if you tell me how fast you want to go ill give you a setup that will put you right on.

Basics-
Carb, intake, fuel tank pickup (or an intank pump from an 84-86 SVO), distributor and ignition stuff, and possibly some new fuel lines. There's also some wiring mods involved. That's also a great time to drop in a cam if you don't have one already. ------------------ 1984 1/2 GT350 (#842 Hatchback w/ T-tops), 302HO, Comp cams Xtreme Energy cam, Carter 625cfm carb, Weiand Stealth intake, MSD distributor, MSD coil, FMS 9mm wires, 1 5/8" MAC unequal shorties, 2 1/2" MAC Prochamber H-pipe, Flowmaster 2 chambers, KYBs, 16"x8" 4 lug Cobra Rs, Falken 245/45ZR16s |

I want to run mid to low twelves. I am rebuilding a motor right now and I am going to have it stroked to 347. What cam, heads, carb, manifold, and dist. do you guys prefer. I really appreciate all the help. Thanks again

youre building a 347 and only want mid 12's?
ok, lets start with the small stuff first. i prefer msd dist. and ignition. for carb a 650 dp is a good start. a edelb. torker intake, windsor sr heads cleaned up, and a custom cam . this is a good combo for mid rpm range power. shift her at around 6300 rpm and youre good. there are alot of combos that are good and i could come up with a quick 10 so look at what people say. |

I am looking to do the same thing, change to carb. Whatever combo I run I will be putting nitrous to it. I think I am going to get rid of all my stuff except for my heads. What would be a good grind on a cam, will the one out of my systemax kit work?

I just completed this swap and I recomend the MSD unilite distributor. You don't have to use an ignition box with one.
