![]() I got to the track early like I usualy do and parked the cobra in the staging lane with ice on the intake. I then went walking around the track looking at all the cars and I notice there is a cobra identical to mine there
![]() ![]() ![]() Finaly I see the guy in the "Saleen" go to the staging lanes I jumped in my car and followed him. We lined them up and he red lit so he had me off the line. I was surprised to see that I was pulling him. I hit 2nd and past him up then I nailed third and had him by like 4 cars in the 1/4. I beat him 13.96 to a 14.7 @94mph ![]() I had been watching the 01 cobra that night and he was running 14.4's @97. Not much of a challenge but I thought it would be cool to race my identical car. We lined them up and I took him off the line and we were side by side through 1st then a powershifted 2nd and pulled him by half a car then I shifted 3rd way cleaner than he did and jumped another car. I won 14.18 to a 14.36. Why are my times so slow you ask. The altitude density was 5000ft ![]() My best time in the cobra is a 13.8 @3000ft. The guy in the LS-1 did beat me once cause my car popped out of 1st gear. Other than that one loss I whooped @ss all night. This trip to the track marks the retirement of the cobra from the track. I feel I have achieved the best 1/4 mile that the car is capable of wich was a 13.8 @3000ft. Which would be a 13.4 @sealevel. I am keeping the car stock so I dont see a point in taking it to the track anymore. My 5.0 is fixed and track ready and should run low 13's......Cant wait. Later, Sorry for the length

![]() Nice runs, sounds like a lot of fun.
I don't understand why some people do nothing but BS about their cars, don't they realize that some things cannont be covered up?

![]() It funny how it's usually the one talking the most that has the slower car - and then get ready for the excuses to fly.

I only have one question for you...How can you stand to leave that cobra stock!!! For the love of God, at least throw some gears in!! It needs them!

![]() We have a new Saleen 281 running around in the area... I still haven't decided whether or not I think it's fake. Cosmetically he has everything he's supposed to. Wheels, Stripes, Hood, G-Effects, etc...... but.... there's one little thing that bothers me... in the back on the trunk on the left side where a Saleen tag should be, it has the nice Ford GT tag still there.... so I can't tell, anyone know if that's a sign or not.... I know on Steedas that doesn't tell you, since all Steedas still say MUSTANG GT or COBRA on the rear bumper and still have their side emblems... so I don't now, anyone here own a "real" saleen that could tell me.. This car is the 99+ body style...

![]() I'm pretty sure that Saleens don't have "GT" badges or written anywhere on them.

![]() If it said "Mustang" on that Saleen imposter's bumper then it wasn't even a Saleen rear bumper cover. Also, it should have a Saleen badge on the back and horse emblems on the fenders.

![]() Sniff Sniff, I smell poser. The Saleen DOES NOT have any GT tags on it whatsoever. My local Ford dealer currently has 3 Saleens there that I constantly drool at and study each detail.

![]() The guy sounds a little confused. Leaving the GT badges on = not a poser. Leaving the GT badges on and claiming it's a real Saleen = retard poser.

![]() That is most certainly not a GT. All Saleen are delivered as v-6 cars. If you look on any REAL Saleen, the only Ford badges on the car will be the ponies off a base car.
It's kind of an homage to the humble beginnings of the chassis.

![]() Yep, I kept my GT badges because that's what it is. I got the body kit because I love the looks of the Saleen, but I didn't put any Saleen graphics, windshield sticker, or badges on mine. It's funny when people ask me about my car the first thing they ask is always if it is a real Saleen...

![]() People always ask about mine,,, funny thing is that most of the Stang's and other cars in this area have no clue who Steeda is, they ask if it's a special Saleen or something... When I tell them it's Steeda, not Saleen... They scratch their heads and then ask if it's real.... When I tell them, what's your definition of real... If you are talking about being serialized from Steeda, then no... but, if you are talking about what level of components it takes then yes. I have everything that came on a 1998 Steeda GT, but the Supercharger. So, I let them make the call... but this Saleen is the newer type, after they ditched the S351. I am about 90% sure it's an S281 (if it's real)..

![]() As far as I know all Saleens do have the pony badge on the side, but the 281 powered cars come as GTs and they change the badges.
