![]() Ok, I can't figure out what I need.
It has been a long time since I played with a performance car, and I only have the money to do it once. I bought those 89 heads I mentioned earlier (they are rebuilt and ported). now to improve on the heads; what cam, intake and carb size would you people recommend?? The motor seems to be stock with shorty headers and dual exhaust (no crossover), the clutch pressure seems to be a bit stiff (guessing a performance clutch). Bought it from a friend who bought it this way and knows nothing of any work done to it. |

![]() Now if you are wanting a off-the shelf cam I think you would want a E303 or B303 cam. I believe the E is more low-end torque and the B is more mid-range torque. Then i would prob go with a 73mm C&L right now in summit for only 125. Then around a 65-70mm Throttle body.

![]() My Man look at the COMP CAM that has 512/531 @ 222/230. You will not have to worry again.

![]() first since you want a carb setup get a performer rpm intake and a 650 dp holley carb. then dont use motorsport cams. and that comp cams cam is a bit big for you. you dont want to go 230 dur. for the street.
a low dur. and overlap will help you make power. you need to do everything as a whole so what plans do you have for the car, and what do you already have or know you want |

![]() My goal is to improve the performance yet reliable enough to drive to work (35 miles one way).
a gear change will keep me happy for a little while but near future plans are the heads, intake and a cam. within a couple weeks, either 3:73 or 3:55 gears. wrapping the headers and underdrive pullies. Bottom line, the ability to kick some butt, but still afford the gas... |
