Default exhaust question

When I bought my car it had flowmasters on it, but no tailpipes. I recently bought the flowmaster tailpipes, but they wont fit. I cant contort the pipes to fit in between the axle, and the gas tank. Do I have to take the plastic cover off the gas tank, or is there something I'm missing Thanks, Keith

you have to have the rear end off the ground i'm not sure if jacking it up will be enough it usually needs to be on a lift. but if you try to jack it up put the jack stands under the frame not the rearend so when you let it down the rearend hangs as far as the suspension will let it you also might unbolt the shocks this gives alot of room between the rearend and body if this still isn't enough i think it should be though you need to put it up on a lift.
