Post 3.73's kick *** ...I love my Mustang again

What a difference, if anybody out there still has there tiny 2.73's and thinks there not that bad they are wrong...they suck. It is so sweet though, I spin through second, get decent rubber in third and actually chirped fourth at about 75-80. I couldn't believe it, I had back off and look down at the shifter to make sure it was really fourth. I definatly need tires, so what height do you guys recommend? Should I get the 235-6015 DR's that are 26.1", or the 225 5015's which are 24"???

Thumbs up

Ya, I can't wait to get some gears. I've almost saved up enough money for them. My big questions is 3.73's or 3.55's. I guess the issue for me is how much I'm going to drive the car and where. If things go well and I get a company car I'm going with 3.73's.

Man I'm jealous

Man you can easily fit 245 nitto drag radials on your car. I dont think 225 tires would hold your car if your spinning through third. I would defanitely go with the 26.1 diameter and 245 wide. I have 245/50/16 nitto drag radials on the rear and they hook up great I just wish I knew what gears my car has in it. Have fun man

Your tire question: I just bought Yokohama AVS Intermediates. They are unreal! Z rated tire and extra sticky. now for the bad news; they only get around 20,000 miles. However, if you don't drive much, say 4k a year like me, then they'll last 5 years. The handling is unreal and they hook up real nice. Better in rain also. Price was right from TIRERACK.com 80 bucks a tire plus shipping total of 39 bucks.

if you have the right rim/backspacing you can put 265 50 15s under your car, so what rims do you have

5.0 HO - There should be a thin metal strip held down by one of your differential cover bolts that says what gear your rear end has in it.

60's are better for dragracing, but 50's will give you even lower gear ratio, im going to get rid of my 225/60/15's for 235/60 DR's. Man i want some 3.73's so bad, actually 4.10 might do the trick, but the way your spinnin, i think i better stay away from 4.10's.

Oh and i have seen people put lots of meat on turbine tires before.

If you like those...wait til try 4.10's
to 5.0HO...
Check your door panel tag...
under axle code...
m=2.73
z=3.08
e=3.27(AOD only)
Get drag radials if you really want to be happy.(cheater slicks if not much e-way driving)

------------------
4.10's,long tubes & 75 shot...Goes 12.50's
Check it out at http://www.burnouts.stangnet.com

11's coming soon!!!!
Heads,intake and cam are all here
