Post Bye Bye Carb..Hello EFI

I plan on taking out my edlebrock intake and carb in favor for a 5.0 EFI system. My question will the stock intake from an 86-93 stang or crown vic compare to the performance of what I have on it right now? I will be using everything stock for now I just want to get it on and try it out. Later on I plan on getting the edelbrock 5.0 intake, throttle body, mass air sensor, 24 lb injectors. If I like how the car runs. Right now I have the performer intake with a 600 cfm carb.

You'll lose top end going to stock injection parts but you will make 15 ft/lbs or more low end torque and you'll have sharp throttle response. I'd only put the stock injection stuff on if I got it for free, I'd save the money for now and buy the good stuff all at once.

You'll lose a ton of performance if you are tuned right.

Don't do it unless you pick up some better injection parts. Do you currently have a later HO engine in there? If not you'll run into firing order problems and all kinds of fun crap.

I have a 69' 302 engine. I plan on using the same type of firing order just with the efi distriburator.
