I recently bought a stock 93 5.0 and I hooked up a vacuum gauge. It reads at around 18 at idle but my buddy says it should be a little over 20 and I was just wondering if anyone knew how much vacuum a stock 5.0 pulls at idle. Also I was wondering if I should have the valve springs and valve lash checked out?

You are in the normal range for a stock motor.
