Default EGR Questions

I'm putting on my new intake today.. and I dont have any gaskets for the EGR unit, so I need to get those, but I noticed that one of the coolant lines was plugged... (I bough it used) can I run the EGR without running the coolant into it?

it's not that big a deal to run the coolant lines, it's jsut that the inlet was plugged, so it seemd that it hadnt been used.

I got some gaskets here.. and they are stock gaskets.... the EGR and TB I got are 70MM and the gasket hangs into the air path... I figured I'd just trim them.. unless theres a reason I shouldnt
