Default Lower control arm mounting points

While I was under my car today (the '93, not the '66) I noticed that the mounting area around the passenger lower control arm has several decent sized cracks in it. Can I just get a reenforcement welded over the area? I've heard mention of torque box reenforcement, is this area what is being refered to ? (dumb question, but I'm trying to clarify my mental definitions)

Thanks
J

Make sure you fix it before it breaks because its a real pain in the *** to fix after they break away. A simple bead of weld with be a good fix a great fix is installing battle boxes.

Install these and be done with it. You can bolt them in, but welding them is highly recomended.
