![]() I have an extra engine (308, E cam, milled stock heads) that is being rebuilt by my friend in his automotive class and I am thinking about getting a roller (no motor, trans) and gutting the thing out. I would go carb (for the first time) and remove everything possible. Any guesses on what the car would weigh? 2500 2600??
Stock body and glass The most fun I ever had was with my current Mustang when it had the stock engine. I'd like to do cheap "racecar" to beat up on instead of dogging on my 93. Thanks |

![]() I would think that would be in the ballpark. I have my 88 hatch all gutted. I also am trying to be as light weight as possible. I have also been keeping track of how much things weight, and how much weight I can reduce, then how much it weighs going back on the car. But then you start to add stuff like a rollbar and subframe connectors, then you feel like your back to square one. It's just alot of work for what seems to be little gain.

![]() Mine weighs in at 2900lbs., Manual rack and pinion, no smog, no bumper, no back seats, no a/c, fiberglass hood, and weld rims.
