Default Still smoking...

Now this one has got us confused. My buddys car was running rough and puffing alot of white smoke and some black smoke. We ripped apart the top of the motor, replaced his head gaskets and every other gasket available. Had the heads resurfaced, pressure tested. The heads weren't very far off, and there are no cracks or anything in the heads. After getting everything back together the car still runs rough, and still puffs white smoke. Also, we filled the cooling system up with water first without any coolant just in case something like this was going to happen. We let it run for about 30 mins, to get all the gaskets set in, and let all the fluids burn off everything. I am not sure what to look for now as the problem?

Do a compression test. Sounds like she broke a ring, or piston skirt, or something similar.

How long did you let it sit after putting it all together?? From what I have found, the gaskets seal alot better if you let them sit for 24hrs. That would really only apply to your intake gasket. I run gasket maker around all the ports on the heads, then put down the intake gasket.

Could very well be sucking coolant into the intake manifold through the throttle body. Remember there IS coolant flowing through the EGR spacer (assuming we're talking about a Fox Mustang here).

Pull the plugs, and see if all of them--or just a single one--is wet.

Well we found out exactly what it was today. There must have been a crapload of coolant, water and oil pooled up in his exhaust. Possibly stuck in one of the cats. After running it for about 45 mins, which included alot of just driving around, the car finally came to end its smoking spree. Who thought something like that could be so simple to fix? Well at least we know whats going on now. Thanks for all the help everyone.
