Post 1/4 timeslip :( What can I do???

Hello,

Here is my info:
r/t: .929
60': 2.380
330: 6.783
1/8: 10.271
MPH: 70.64
1000 13.253
1/4: 15.79
MPH: 88.41

In my car's defense it was about 85 degrees out and I think it was probably 500-1000 feet up. Also there are two sensors on my computer that are shot. One is the one that has something to do with giving exhaust gases. I was told I was losing 10 HP from that one. The other is one that is causing my engine to hesitate.

My car is totally stock. I am wondering what it would have run under better conditions (50 degrees out and both sensors fixed), and better launch.

Also how will the following mods help:
3.73 gears
2.5" MAC exhaust.
2.5" MAC Long Equal Length headers.
2.5" MAC H-pipe with cats (I think it is 2.5")
MAC Intake (the one that mounts in fender wall.
Possibly a chip (I have AOD)

What can to gain from these mods, and what will they take from my time? (Under ideal conditions...)

Thanks,
DoranW

Youve left out wayy to many variables.

What year and model is your car? GET YOUR SENSORS fixed, and get your car in a good tune. PLUGS/WIRES/CAP/ROTOR.

Get back to the track then, and then plan on mods, once its running right.

ALso where are you shifting and how are u launching?

Sorry about that.

1990 Mustang 5.0 LX AOD
Just got FULL tune-up with brand new wires and everything from Ford Racing.

Launch: Rev to 1000-1500 with brake on, switch to gas instantly. Tiny peel out, more of a chirp.

I didn't like the track. Too many crazy reds. It's just not cool when an old nova with no paint runs a 12 and is loud as hell.
I'll be back, but I didn't want to waste the $25 until I had some mods. I am more curious of what I was capable of running with those two sensors fixed and on a cooler day. (Intake LOVES the cold air).

Just my $.02

i just went to the track last week and ran a 14.9 at 95mph (not happy with that time, should be lower). i have a auto with stock 2.73's, not ideal for the track. u probely have the same crappy gears. 3.73's or 4.10's would help a lot in a auto.

you should be able to power brake higher then 1500rpm's at the track, cause of the amount of rubber thats on it. i was able to power brake to about 2100rpm's without spinning the tires, and a little chirp when i launched. when u see the third yellow light let off the brake and mass the gas!

manualy shift the car yourself (AKA AOD shuffle), at about 4400 to 4900 rpms. and give the AOD time to shift cause it will take a few hundred rpms to shift, so it will really be like 4600 to 5100. letting the AOD do all the work will net in higher ET's, so u need to help it out.

hope that helps a little bit, good luck!
