Default A sick pony

I have just purchesed a 96 gt with only 35k on it. In the last 10 years it has only had 10k miles put on it. After driving it home it started missing worse and than it gets to where it will barely idle and it acts like it is starved for fuel. I changed the fuel filter, I know it sounds like possible fuel pump issues, but I'm hoping that isn't the case. I also notice air pressure coming out of a hose with a metal muffler looking thing that looks like it is tied into the air pump system. It is located on the drivers side down by the exhaust manifold and is loud enough you hear it as you drive it down the road. I'm new to the fuel injection world,my last car was a 68 california special, much simpler. I would appreciate it if anyone could share some fixes or ideas with me. Have a nice day
