There is a method of restoring them that works pretty good if your handy and have the time. You sand out the imperfections, prime the surface and then mask and repaint. I did it to my moldings and while they don't look new, they look much better. Saleen makes a set of covers that glue over the molding to address the same issue.

About as common as the ash tray and console lid failing.

Like 89LXNB I painted mine, actually I paid a professional to paint mine, they had to be sanded, filled, sanded, primed, sanded, and then painted. They turned out great, I think it cost me about $175. Well worth the money and less expensive then new quarter windows.

Try to find someone who will do a good job for you. I ran into the guy who did mine at a car show, turns out he owns and operates a body shop and is a Mustang enthusiest. That's the kind of guy who will pay attention to detail and do a great job for you.

Or if you're handy at that kind of thing you can do it yourself at home, a friend of mine did his and they turned out pretty good too. Probably somebody here has done it and can tell you the materials you will need.

I built mine up with primer and then sanded them smooth. Then had them painted the same color as the rest of the car.

You can get the replacements from STEEDA for about $75. They come with addhesive to secure them on also. They are not real ones b/c the moldings are on the glass itself, they are pieces that fit over tthe old moldings and they look real good. I never knew this was a problem on coupes, although i shiuld have mine are starting to look like crap,
hopefully i can restore them after i get my motor redone. I put ultra shine armor all on them to make them look a bit better.
