single plane for efi
I have been thinking about porting a truck lower efi intake and was thinking of removing the material between the runners only at the top.and port the lowers,(it has a box top ) and was wondering how this would effect the injectors and eletronics .
original(kinda) joined runners (sort of) [][][][] [][][][] [ ][ ] hope you get the idea. |
Some improvement in CFM can be achieved by matching the sizes and alignment of the plenum, runners and manifold base. Matching the alignment of the plenums can be achieved by applying a light film of Prussian Blue to each end of the runner, installing the runner, and torquing the runner down. Removing the runner and inspecting the Prussian Blue contact point will show where the runners are misaligned. A more careful inspection will reveal where the runners are oversized or undersized compared with either the intake or the central plenum. Even after spending hours grinding the material away so as to achieve a perfect match will probably not get you more then 3 or 4 added horsepower.
